Gardens of England in the Northwest

We are delighted to tell you about this month’s wonderful concert, linking Gerald with his lifelong friend….to quote Anthony Spain, NWSO Conductor & Music Director “Vaughan Williams wrote his beautiful Fifth Symphony as a reminder of the beauty that is possible in this world, against the ravages of World War II. One is able to taste, feel, and envision the gorgeous and tranquil British landscape of Vaughan Williams’ beloved homeland. Also featured on the concert program is virtuoso clarinet soloist Sean Osborn, who, having toured much of the world, is back home in Seattle to perform Gerald Finzi’s Clarinet Concerto with the NWSO – one of my personal favorite concertos.”
